Report: Drummond Leaving UConn, Joining Lamb in NBA Draft

The Hartford Courant reports that Drummond is headed to the pros.

freshman forward Andre Drummond has decided to leave UConn after one season and make himself available for the upcoming NBA Draft, The Hartford Courant reported Thursday.

According to The Courant, Drummond’s official announcement may come as late as Friday.

If Drummond decides to head to the pros, he will be the second Husky to declare this week.

On Tuesday, sophomore guard Jeremy Lamb declared himself eligible for the NBA Draft.

"It was a difficult decision, but after much prayer and discussion with my parents, I feel that it's in the best interest of me and my family to declare myself eligible for the upcoming NBA Draft and pursue my dream of playing professional basketball," Lamb said Tuesday in a prepared statement.

Lamb and Drummond will be the 14th and 15th players respectively under Coach Jim Calhoun to leave the university early to enter the NBA Draft.
