Video: Indian Motorcycle Rally Raises Funds For Education Center

The Friends of Hilltop Farm in Suffield hosted an Indian Motorcycle Rally on Sunday to pay tribute to George Hendee and raise money for a regional educational center at the historic farm.

Visitors had the opportunity to view dozens of vintage Indian motorcycles at historic Hilltop Farm in Suffield on Sunday.

The Friends of Hilltop Farm hosted the Indian Motorcycle Rally to raise money for an educational center where people can learn about utilizing, nurturing and protecting open space.

Hilltop Farm boasts an architecturally significant 20,000 square foot main barn, which was home to prize-winning, internationally recognized Guernsey or Holstein cows for almost 85 years. The farm was created in 1914 by George M. Hendee, co-founder of the Indian Motorcycle Company in Springfield, MA.

The Friends of the Farm at Hilltop, Inc., formed in 2002 to save and preserve the barn and farmstead, and establish a learning center.

The Hilltop Farm Historic District was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in January 2005.
